My Bosch front end loading washing machine is about 5 years old and never had a problem with it until today. When the drum turns on washing cycle it bangs around and on the spin cycle it is really noisy and the machine vibrates enough to move it from its place. After it finished the cycle I was taking the washing out and I could smell burning inside the drum also when I turn it by hand the drum feels loose like it broke off, it wasn't like that before.
Does this sound like it could be easily fixed?

Most likely the drum spider has corroded or cracked. Something like that on a front loading washing machine is very expensive to repair. Most likely you are up for a new machine.
Corrosion on the drum spider happens if low quality detergents are used or if there is a build up of detergent in the machine. To prevent a build up of detergent in the machine a monthly empty long hot wash should be done. This will get rid of the detergent build up and prevent corrosion. Also it is good to run some sort of a descaler that is made for washing machines once in 3 months to get rid of any calcium and lime scale build up that could also damage the insides of the machine.
