Bosch dishwasher E24

Error E24 is the most common error that appears on a Bosch dishwasher. Mainly this error means that the dishwasher is not able to drain the water or in rare cases the dishwasher might think it is full of water when it is not.

What to do when E24 appears on the dishwasher

Clean all the filters in the dishwasher very thoroughly and try to run the dishwasher again.

If cleaning the filter has not helped, disconnect the dishwasher from the drain pipe under the sink and place the hose in the bucket and press and hold the reset button to force the dishwasher into the drain mode. If water starts draining into the bucket that means there is a blockage in the drain pipe under the sink.

Water not draining into the bucket? Its time to remove the drain pump and check to make sure there is nothing stuck in the drain pump or the housing. Before dissembling the dishwasher make sure to unplug the dishwasher and mop up all the water inside the dishwasher.

Also in very rare cases Bosch dishwasher E24 can appear when the impeller on the heat pump (wash motor) becomes stiff and the dishwasher might think that it is full of water when its actually empty. Bosch dishwashers check for water in the sump by running the wash motor and checking for resistance. So if you have done everything above and when you open the dishwasher and it does not have any water inside it that means the heat pump might be responsible for the E24 error.

If you are still not sure how to solve this issue or dont feel confident in disassembling the dishwasher its best to contact a local repairer and get them to look at it.
